Candle Care
To help your candle last longer, we recommend trimming the wick to about 5 mm before lighting it. Let the candle burn long enough (3 hours) for the wax to melt all the way to the edge of the glass. This prevents your scented candle from burning down the center and leaving wax on the edges.
Always remember to be cautious and never leave a lit candle unattended.
Other Helpful Tips (in Case of an Accident)
Removing Candle Wax from Clothes:
Let it Harden:
- If the wax is still soft, let it harden by placing the fabric in the freezer for about 15-20 minutes. You can also speed this up by rubbing ice cubes on the wax.
Scrape off the Excess Wax: - Once the wax has hardened, gently scrape it off using a spoon, butter knife, or credit card. Be careful not to damage the fabric.
Use Heat to Lift Remaining Wax: - Place a paper towel or brown paper bag over the remaining wax. Then, use an iron on a low heat setting to press over the paper. The heat will melt the wax, and the paper will absorb it. Move the paper around as it soaks up the wax.
Wash the Fabric: - After removing as much wax as possible, wash the fabric according to the care instructions. You may want to pre-treat the stained area with a stain remover before washing.
Check Before Drying:
Ensure all wax is gone before putting the clothes in the dryer. The heat from the dryer can set the stain, making it harder to remove.
Removing Candle Wax from Furniture:
Let the Wax Harden:
- Allow the wax to cool and harden. If it’s still soft, speed up the hardening process by placing an ice pack or bag of ice over the wax.
Scrape off Excess Wax: - Once the wax is hardened, gently scrape it off with a plastic scraper, a credit card, or your fingernail. Be careful not to scratch the surface of the furniture.
Use Heat for Remaining Wax: - Place a paper towel or clean cloth over the remaining wax. Then, use a hairdryer on a medium setting to heat the wax until it becomes soft and sticky. The paper towel will absorb the melted wax as you heat it.
Clean the Area: - After removing the wax, clean the surface with a gentle furniture cleaner or warm, soapy water to remove any residue.
Polish or Refinish (if Needed):
If the wax has left a dull spot on wood furniture, use a furniture polish or a specialized wood finish to restore its shine.
These methods should help you remove candle wax effectively from both clothes and furniture. Always test any method on a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure it won’t damage the material!
